Beskar (in Mando'a - the
Mandalorian language) also known as Mandalorian steel is a highly versatile,
lightsaber-resistant alloy used
in Mandalorian armor, notable for its high tolerance to extreme forms of
damage.
The metal is durable enough
to withstand a direct blaster shot and can repel lightsaber strikes.
Mandalorian armor is known as
beskar'gam
(iron
skin in the Mandalorian language)
and is worn exclusively by warriors.
It is worn by both men and women, and while it gives excellent protection,
it also creates a common appearance
regardless of species or gender.
Emperor Palpatine’s Purge
The Empire was founded and ruled
by Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine.
Similar to Nazi Germany, The
Empire seeks to ensure social control
over every planet and civilization
in the galaxy.
“The Great Purge” was a
campaign of repression and persecution orchestrated by Emperor Palpatine,
which removed virtually all
opposition to his power.
One of the events that happened
as a a result of the Purge was that the Empire took control of Mandalore,
under the command of Darth Maul,
driving the Mandalorian warriors into hiding, “like sand rats”
and the Imperials claimed all
of the precious beskar steel for themselves.
Now, reunited under one banner,
